McKenzie usually goes to summer school for a week during the summer and to end the week they go on a field trip to the Treehouse Museum. Well this year at the last minute the school district cancelled it so we decided to go anyways! I'm so glad we did. It's such a fun place! They have a big room with a map of Utah on the floor and you press this button for a clue and have to try to find whatever the clues were about. There are lakes, the state bird, historical buildings and even the coldest spot ever recorded right by where we live. Can you believe in 1985 at Peter Sinks in Logan Canyon it was -69°. That's the 2nd coldest temperature ever recorded in the continental United States. BRRRR!!!!!
It would take me all day to post everything they have there but here are a few of the things the girls enjoyed most. They had a whole section about the human body. Brooklyn checked out some x-rays.
McKenzie discovered what our insides look like.
Then we moved on to the music room.
And we got to see a replica of the oval office. Here's President McKenzie.
They also had clothes so you could dress up like George and Martha Washington.
But perhaps their favorite part was the knights castle and the dress up stuff. They spent the most of their time here trying on all the outfits and "putting on shows." It has a real stage curtain and one of them would dress up and the other would introduce them and draw back the curtain.
It's definitely a place I'd recommend and like to go back to. Just give yourself lots of time, there's so much to see and do!!!
