Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!
Kenzie is becoming quite the crafty little girl. Whenever I am doing something she loves to see what I'm doing and help however she can so for Father's day I let her paint this frame so that she a Brooklyn would have something special to give him.

Hard at work....

All finished!

We wrapped it up and she found a special hiding place for it until the big day!

Pierced ears

Kenzie has been wanting her ears pierced and she decided that when she was 5 that she would be ready. Knowing she had to wear the first pair for 6 weeks I told her about 6 weeks before that she could pierce them when she was ready in hopes she would do it and be able to get new earrings and where them when she turned 5. She went back and forth between wanting to and not wanting to, but a couple weeks ago she woke up and was set on getting them pierced that day. We got ready and went in and she got up in the chair and they cleaned them and marked them and she lost all her confidence and started crying. I let her get down because there was another lady waiting and she watched her get hers pierced and also compared how many earrings she had to choose from if she went ahead and did it. She finally decided there just weren't enough clip-ons to choose from and picked out a couple pairs she liked to hold onto for strength and got right back up in the chair and did it. I am so proud of her. She only cried for a minute and when she went back to choose which earrings she wanted to take home for later she forgot all about the pain. She has her days when she doesn't like that we have to clean them 3 times a day but she does love them and whenever she is asked what she wants for her birthday that's coming up..... EARRINGS!

WANTED!

This little cutie is wanted for emptying the contents of a brand new shampoo bottle on the bathroom floor. I decided to strap her in her chair and feed her breakfast while I clean up that mess thinking she can't cause any trouble there, Right? WRONG! I come out a couple minutes later to check on her and she's dumped out her milk and is finger painting my table with it! So it's just now 10 am and she's in her 3rd change of clothes already!

This picture is so cute, I've been waiting for a chance to use it and she gave me the perfect reason to today!

Worked harder at home then at work...

Over Memorial Day weekend we ended up staying home but we got some amazing things done around here. I got my garden planted, and it's already proving to be better than last year. Chad planted 3 new trees, which we are hoping will grow very tall, very fast and shade the back of our house from the heat in the evening when the sun is begins to go down. We had a family get-together at Chad's parents to meet the newest member of our family - my nephew's son, Daxton.
But the best thing we got done was this sandbox!

It's perfectly placed right next to my garden so while I am working they can play. As you can see it's big enough for the swingset and has a tractor tire in it too. Seeing them play in it proves it was definetly worth the time and money put into it. They use to have a little lady bug that they could barely fit in together and they fought all the time because they were too close and it didn't leave enough room to play, now we have plenty of room for them and all their friends.

To potty... Or not to potty...

Brooklyn has been showing a lot of interest in using the "big girl potty" the last couple months. She actually first wanted to try sitting on the potty on Christmas Eve but the last couple months she's telling us when she goes and needs a diaper change and has made it a couple of times so I decided it was time to try some "big girl panties." I decided to wait til Memorial Day weekend to try it out because between Chad and I she was gonna be home for 5 days. Well I get them out and got her all excited about them, they are Elmo panties after all and she LOVES Elmo. I laid them all out on the floor and we talked about not "going" in them, -I'll spare you all the 2 year old jargon we use around here ;) - she picks her favorite pair and she tried but couldn't go before we put them on.

She was awfully pround of them! She walks to the living room, I take this picture.....

then I turn around a couple minutes later and she is squatting on the floor going pee! Seriously, it had not been 5 minutes! So we clean it up, pick another pair and start all over again. I wait about 10 minutes and try to get her to go again, she says she doesn't need to so she gets down walks in Kenzie's room and squats on the floor AGAIN! So we clean it up and are about to pick the 3rd pair, only this time she refuses and begs for a diaper. I've asked her everyday since if she wants to wear the Elmo panties and she tells me No, a diaper! I guess she's not ready afterall.
