Mixed-up Animal Sounds

So we got this new lift-the-flap farm book and Chad was reading it to the girls earlier tonight and Brooklyn, who knows her animal sounds for the most part (except a couple new ones in the book) starts being silly and mixing them all up. Then for ones she doesn't know yet she'd just make some random sound. It was so funny and the more we all laughed the sillier she got with it. As you can tell Kenzie thought it was hilarious! Her laughing made it more funny.

Kids say the darndest things!!!

In the last couple of months we have talked to Kenzie about stranger danger, that it's important to stay with Mom in the store etc. etc. etc. She also has been learning about it in preschool. So last week we make a quick stop at the grocery store, she was so good she stayed right with me and everything, we leave we put our stuff in the car, she's still staying right by me, we get in the car and we are doing up our seatbelts and she says to me, "Don't worry mom if anyone ever tried to steal one of us I'd kick their a$$!" Of course I tried to hide my laughter and I said, "Kenzie, you just said a bad word" to which she replies, "I know Mom, but I would!" So serious for a 4 year old!

Also I think this is so funny! Brooklyn as I've mentioned has not been much of a talker so far, we know she can because she slips sometimes, and sometimes we just don't get her what she wants til she says it, but for the most part she has a big sister that talks for her or she knows how to get what she wants by herself now. Anyways back to the story, when The Dark Knight commercials started coming on tv she would see the Joker and say "OOOOOO" like he was really scary! Well I got the Dvd for Christmas and she would carry it around, point at the Joker on the back cover and say "OOOOOO" so I tell her that's the Joker, and guess what she says all the time now! Joker! Joker! Joker! We have to force her to say milk, drink, anything else but she loves to say Joker! What a silly girl! She's also really good at saying CHEESE for the camera. So good she can't even keep her eyes open!

Wow... that all went by so fast!

I can't believe it's January already! Was it just me or did the month of December go by way too fast! I guess that old saying is true, "Time flies when you are having fun!" and boy were we having fun. Here's a rundown of what we've done since I last blogged.
*We made a gingerbread houses, one at home and Kenzie also made one at school. We also made sugar cookies and covered pretzels for our friends and family.
*Dec. 16th - Our good friends Michelle & Brandon welcomed a little girl to their family. We made them dinner and went to see the new little one.
*Christmas Eve - We went to Grandma and Grandpa Liebes for Chad's family party. Everyone was able to make it except Brandon & Destiny but they made it up for a visit this last weekend. Afterwards we went to my parents and opened our Christmas Eve present - always pj's! We went home after, hung our new ornament for this year on the tree, listened to the Night Before Christmas then went to bed so Santa would come.
*Christmas Day-Kenzie woke us up at 6:50 because Santa had come!!! Kenzie got a Purple (her favorite color) dollhouse and Brooklyn (our little animal lover) got a farmhouse among lots of other things! My Mom and Dad, My Brothers, Savanah and Bryan came later that day. We exchanged gifts with them and had a big ham dinner! It was delicious! Later that night is started to snow like crazy and my parents had a little trouble getting out of the driveway (since it's uphill) and a scary drive home. After they left we cleaned up what snow we had so far then went to bed.
*Dec. 26-We woke up buried in snow! We had so much snow and it drifted so much it was up over the hood of my car! We spent the whole day cleaning up snow and sledding in our driveway. Chad also hooked us up to the 4 wheeler and pulled us up and down the street. The girls LOVED it! We weren't the only ones either, people were riding their snowmobiles down the street too.
*Dec. 27th - We went to Grandma Jeans for her Mexican Fiesta Christmas Party. We had a Mexican food dinner and pinatas too! Almost everyone was there this year. It was great to see all the little ones play together. Between us there are 7 little ones from McKenzie who is 4 to Ella who was almost a month old. All girls, except one!
* New Years Eve - We went to our friends - Zayne and Bobbi's house, we figured that we'd go home when the girls got tired but they had a blast and stayed up til midnight with us. You would never have know it was way past bedtime.
*New Year's Day - Happy Birthday to Chad! We went to my parents, BBQ'D dinner and watched a movie. As you can tell we had a very busy but very fun holiday this year. our kids got very spoiled and we are all very lucky to have been able to see most of our family throughout the month! Hope you all had a great holiday too and may the New Year be just as great!

A Year in review

Always busy...

Yet it seems like nothing is ever getting done!
Everyday seems to go by so fast, we've got
A cute-as-can-be 2 year old who's so close to turning 3, and a
Really smart and oh-so-sweet 5 year old who'll be 6 before we know it!

I can't belive my babies are now a kindergartner and a preschooler!
Next year wil bring 2 more layoffs, we're

Really luck to have made it through the last 2, and
Ever so hopeful that we'll make it through the next 2. We're
Very lucky to have each other, our home and our jobs!
In comparison to so many others right now who don't . We're
Excited, and maybe a little scared, to see what the new year will bring.
We're hoping for ourselves, and you too, that it will be a great year!
