Last week of Summer?!?!?

Knowing that this is officially the last week of summer since fall starts on Monday and the weather is supposed to change a great deal this weekend we made a couple trips to the park to play this week. Tuesday me and the girls went to lunch and then to the park with Michelle and Davin.

While I have to say that fall is probably my favorite season, (because I love Halloween, the leaves changing and cooler weather and also because it means Christmas is not far away!!!) I am sad that summer is coming to a close. We had a lot of fun this summer, I seriously think we did something fun almost every weekend of it! It seemed to go by WAY too fast.

Hogle Zoo

We finally made the trip to Hogle Zoo Friday. I have been wanting to go all summer and we finally made it. It was me and the girls and Uncle Clint. Also Grandma came along and Judy, Courtney and Jake. We had so much fun! Kenzie loved seeing all the animals we read about in books and see on tv "for real". Brooklyn was just in awe of everything and got so excited about each new animal. Since she's not much for talking, unless SHE wants to so it was mostly uhh's and ooo's but still very cute. They did shows all day and had the animal do tricks. They had the penguins dive for fish, the elephant showing off its tusks and playing soccer (Kenzie thought that was so funny!) Then there was a bird show, they had all kinds of birds doing amazing things, they were taking donations to make the zoo better and they had a bird that would fly and get the money from your hand and take it back to the trainer and put it in his pocket or in a donation box. Others would swoop through the audience, so close one got Grandma's hair! We took a break and had a picnic lunch then off to see the rest. The girls all loved the giraffes because we went inside and one little baby was eating so we were able to get SOOO close to it. Then they had this house called Grandma's house that's decorated like houses would be in the countries where the big "cats" came from, they had drums and we practically had to tear the kids away from them. While we were in there Brooklyn is looking out the window at a lynx and it walks right up to the window and they just sat and stared at each other. We saved the gorillas and Orangutans for last and spent more time there than at any other exhibit. There was an Orangutan family and the mom and baby were hilarious playing together. Then in another window the HUGE Orangutan was sitting right up by the window. Again Brooklyn was face to face with an animal, I think it was the longest I've ever seen Brooklyn sit still :) We would walk away and she couldn't help but go back to that one over and over! We also rode the train and the new carousel. On the carousel both girls giggled the entire time. I think we made it to see everything there at some point. It was definetly a fun day, one we'll have to do again! I loved seeing them so happy! Here is a slideshow of our day.

Kenzie's first day of School

So yesterday was Kenzie's first day of preschool. I got to go and stay with her since it was her first day and she had so much fun! Of course her first thing to talk about is the playhouse on the playground, but she also loved making "bug soup" and singing songs with all the other kids. They practiced some letters and it was so neat to see that she knew so many already. In her class there is a girl named Kinlee and also a McKinlee and a Brooke, that they call Brookie, she thought that was pretty funny. I really think she's going to have a lot of fun there. I just can't believe my little girl has grown up so fast!

Willow Park

Last week Clint and I took McKenzie, Brooklyn & Savanah to Willow Park. The first thing in the park is the monkeys and they all three loved watching them climb around.
And as always feeding the ducks is a big hit with the little kids. Brookyln and Savanah kept sticking their whole hands in there and the theres so many ducks they are a little rough. I was afraid they were gonna get bit and really hurt but luckily they made it home with all their fingers intact.

Boating at Twin Lakes

Saturday we borrowed Grandpa's boat for the day and went to Twin Lakes in Idaho. Donald and Judy and their family came and also some friends of ours. Mostly the girls loved playing in the shallow water and sand again. This was the first time Brookyln was on the boat and she LOVED it.

She HAD to sit all by herself which was scary for me! She didn't even want me to hold onto her hand, I'd try and she'd shake me off every time. She such a little daredevil I was nervous but she just sat there and enjoyed the wind blowing through her hair.
Kenzie on the other hand is not so brave, she sat by herself for a minute......then decided she was safer to sit with Uncle Clint.I can't blame her though, I have to admit that she gets that from me. I have never even been out on the tube behind the boat before but I finally tried it. I made Chad just putt around while I was on it and I didn't stay on long. Sorry but no pictures were allowed of that since I'm sure I looked like a total dork! I will try it again though, when I get the nerve again :) I apparently need to try it laying down or kneeling, that's what all the guys did and they had too much fun trying to get each other to fall off going over big waves really fast! Fun that is til Sunday when the sore muscles set in!

Clint and I took the girls out on the air mattresses. Kenzie could have done it all day but the little busy bee wanted off as soon as she got on, she's not much for sittin still. :)

Bear Lake

Every year around the 24th we go with the Liebes Family to Bear Lake for a family Reunion. This year we went Saturday and stayed overnight til Sunday. Most of Saturday we spent at the lake. McKenzie and Brooklyn loved the warm shallow water and playing in the sand.

After going to the lake we went back to camp and made dutch oven dinner together. We always get to much sun and not enough sleep when we go there but we ALWAYS have a lot of fun together!

Pioneer Day

Pioneer Day we went to fireworks at the park with Troy, Holli & Savanah. The girls love to play with thier uncles and while we were waiting for the fireworks to start Troy was doing push ups with them on his back. My girls loved it but.....

Savanah wasn't so sure

Snugglin with Holli waiting for the fireworks to start.
